MALIBU
We had lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Malibu Seafood, and then played on the beach, where Michayla reenacted the infamous Little Mermaid moment.

BBQ
In LA we stayed with our good friends the Smith-Reynolds, oh how we love them so. We had a BBQ with the usual suspects. The girls ate a huge dinner then kicked back and enjoyed some Cuban cigars.

2 YEAR REUNION!
At the end of August we headed back out to LA for our adoption group's 2nd year reunion! We had a wonderful time. We got to spend time with our dear friends and Michayla got to see her Mei-Meis, including her very special Mei-Mei, her crib-mate, Karissa.

COUSINS
Emily and Elizabeth, two of Michayla's cousins, came up from North Carolina for a visit. It was the first time Emily had met Michayla and it was love at first site.
And for those of you not in the know, picture taking time is the perfect time to steal food from your mama.

RUN, NICKI, RUN!!!
Nicki ran the NYC Half-Marathon!! You had to run it under a certain time and if you weren't on pace, you would be swept up by the Sweep Wagon. But Nicki outran the dreaded Child Catcher and finished. Mark and Michayla were very very proud of mama!

JERSEY BLUEBERRIES
On our way back from the shore we stopped at Terhune Orchards to pick some blueberries. Michayla picked like a professional migrant worker. wait, is that wrong to say?

DOWN THE SHORE
It wouldn't be summer in the NYC/NJ area without a trip down the shore. That's the New Jersey shore for those of you not from here. We went to beautiful Cape May for a week, courtesy of the amazing O'Donnell sisters, Suzanne and Mimi. We had an amazing time. Spent lots of time on the beach, rented a surrey with some fringe on top, ate ate ate, and laughed laughed laughed.
