HALLOWEEN NIGHT

Halloween night the girls first fueled up with a hearty dinner. Wonder Woman donned her winter Super Hero outfit, made sure her Wonder Woman flashlight was working, and then one and all hit the streets of Pasadena.

It only took Michayla two houses to get into the swing of things. She loved it. And like her mother, she was very picky about her treats. And she always wanted more.

TRICK OR TREAT

Wonder Woman!! We had a pre-Halloween party and Michayla gave her costume a trial run. We think she digs being a Superhero!

SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY

We went to Boone, NC to visit Mark's sister and her family. Michayla charmed everyone.

THE MAN, THE MYTH...

Our adoption agency, US Asian Affairs, had a reunion picnic. Here we all are with Norman, the man who changed our lives.

CRIBBIES

We think these are really amazing and moving photos. Michayla and Karrisa shared a crib in the orphanage in Hunan. The Yamada's adopted Karassa the same time we adopted Michayla. Look at these two very special and wonderful girls.

CHILLIN'

Michayal chills out with her good friend, ShaSha, and sports a rainbow on her face. At least that's what the artistic-challenged "entertainer" told us it was.

THE SLIDE

Michayla has always wanted daddy or mommy to go down the slide with her. But on this gorgeous day, Michayla boldly went down by herself. As you can see, she hated it.

LITTLE SURFER GIRL

After morning services we spent our day of atonement at the beach. Michayla can't fast and our blood sugar and a toddler can't take fasting. So we picked up a picnic lunch at Wild Oats and headed for the surf.

DANICA PATRICK BROWN

Mark bought Michayla her first car, a Cozy Coupe II. She can't get enough of it. Loves loves loves it. Calls it her "Car-go," which makde a lot of sense.And she loves to give Bobby (her Bob's Big Boy) a ride.

FIRST ANNUAL REUNION

Our China travel group had its first annual reunion in Manhattan Beach. About half of the families attended. It was absolutely amazing to see all of the girls (and one boy) together again. And walking!

On Saturday night we had a dinner (Chinese, natch'), a slide show, a raffle, and lots of play time.

Sunday we all had breakfast together (Western food, just like in China) and then we all headed to a beautiful park for more playtime and pizza.

It was great to see everyone and for us it was especially wonderful to see our friends Lawrence (Wacky Weekend Weatherman), Sharon (Intrepid Girl Reporter), and Jessica (Cute as Punch) Karnow. We traveled with Sharon and Lawrence (Along with Sharon's dad, the infamous Mysterious Mr. Chin) the entire three weeks we were in China. We're in the early stages of planning a two family trip to China in 2008.

A SWINGING GOOD TIME

GOAL LINE STANCE

The park was beautiful. But there was no barrier between the kids and the scum-green pond (as can be seen in the pic of the Karnows taking a picture near said pond).

Well, Jessica Karnow's blood thirst for danger got the better of her and she made a dash for the pond. Fortunately, Sharon is not only a reporter extraordinaire, but a former Raiders football player, and she made one heck of a goal line stance.

GO FLY A KITE!

We went to Nicki's theatre's big shindig Gala and spent the night at the Hyatt, right on the beach. The next morning we went out and Mark and Michayla flew that old Chinese invention, the kite. You can see what a big helper Michayla was. Fly, Dora the Explorer, fly!!
