GELATO

I wonder if Michayla likes chocolate gelato?

LIONS AND TIGERS AND...ALPACAS?

We visited Siegfried and Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage. It's a wonderful display of very tired lions, very tired tigers, and alpacas. Alpacas? Maybe they're used as appetizers.

NOT SO SECRET GARDEN

Ladies and Gentlemen, Siegfried and Roy!

And you wonder why the tiger mauled him.

WILD ON VEGAS

We went to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. While none of the fish are topless, it's still a really cool place.

We saw a Golden Alligator.

Michayla was mesmorized by the Water Monitor Lizard. The second largest lizard in the world.

SHARK!

This fish looks harmless but can suck your brain out through your ear.

WHAT A DUMP

As you can see, the view from our room at the Bellagio was awful. The water show runs every 15 minutes, so every time we came back into the room Michayla would squeal, "WaWa!"

Maybe she wanted a hoagie.

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS...

AN EATING MACHINE

All this kid does is eat. She ate the ENTIRE ear of corn!

WOW...

So it's THAT kind of party!

BIRTHDAY BASH

We celebrated Anna's first birthday. Whoo hoo!!

Here are the usual suspects looking very suspicious.

LIFE OF THE PARTY

107 IN THE SHADE

Bal Jagat, our adoption agency, had a picnic in the midst of a heat wave here. It was 107 in the shade. 115 out of the shade. 72 in our house. But ice cubes saved the day.

POPSICLEISHNESS

Sometimes eating a popsicle is exhausting!

BUBBLES

We had a lovely 4th of July dinner with our usual suspects. Nothing's better than catching bubbles on a summer's night.

THAT MONKEY IS A FISH

It's too bad Michayla doesn't like the water.

HOP 'N POP MADNESS

When we got back from China last year, Michayla could barely stand up in her Hop 'N Pop.

Here she shows Anna the finer points of said Hop 'N Pop.

PORTRAITS A SPECIALTY

Michayla's second shot. She's a quick study.

SAY CHEESE

Michayla's first picture.

TAXI!

Zabars! Make it snappy!

SOUND ADVICE

We made a quick trip back east, where Michayla put her little feet into the Long Island Sound for the first time.

A FULL DAY

We're so behind in our blogging. Sorry.

In June we attended an FCC (Familes with Children from China) picnic. Michayla was just starting to get her walking legs. You can see the pure joy in her face. She also crawled through her first tunnel (good if she ever ever needs to infiltrate an office via an air duct), and did a little swinging.

Phew!
